My Story:

Chris Cooper seems to be one of the nicest actors around. My son is a huge fan of Spider-Man and Mr. Cooper played Norman Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  I thought it would be neat if I could get autographs from the cast for my son.  To my surprise Mr. Cooper responded pretty quickly.  Personally, I loved Mr. Cooper in The Patriot.  He played Colonel Harry Burwell and one of the most touching moments towards the end of the movie was when he told Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) that he named his new son Gabriel after Gabriel Martin (Heath Ledger) who was the son of Benjamin Martin.  Gabriel died fighting the British after they burned his new wife and her town alive in a church.  Once I was introduced to Chris Copper in this movie, I was an instant fan of his. I thought he did a phenomenal job with his role.  I also thought he was fantastic in The Bourne Identity. If you haven’t watched his movies, I highly recommend The Patriot or The Bourne Identity.

My Story:
This was an autograph that my sister wanted.  Mr. Selleck was on her top ten list.  I figured I would give it a shot.  Who doesn’t love this handsome man?  I’m actually quite jealous that I was able to get a success for my sister when I would love to have one for myself.  I’ve never been they type of person able to ask for something for myself so for the first 50 or so requests, I requested for my family members.  My sister is a disabled veteran and has been on medical leave since October.  With her being stuck in bed she spent lots of time watching TV and different movies.  It may sound silly but for a person that is stuck in bed day in and day out some of these actors truly help you through some of the darkest days of your life.  The art of making films allows the audience to keep their mind off of what is going on in their lives even if it is only for a couple of hours.  Mr. Selleck was nice enough to personalize this authentic success for my sister.  I am extremely grateful for his kindness.  There is nothing better than when an autograph response comes in the mail.  It’s better than Christmas.  The pure joy and happiness of the person that receives the success is worth the hours spent researching, writing letters and the constant purchase of envelopes and stamps.  🙂

Nicolas Cage Pre-Print

My Story:
Nicolas Cage is one of the reasons I began this hobby.  Mr. Cage plays Ben Gates in our favorite movie National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets.  This was one of the first requests I sent out.  I never got back any of the snail mail requests from Mr. Cage as I’ve read that he doesn’t respond to his fan mail.  However, I found out that if you send an email request to nicolascage@studiofanmail.com they will send you a pre-print, I sent one right away.  We are very pleased that we were able to get anything back.  Some of the long time collectors would say that a pre-print is not a success, I do not believe that to be true.  In my opinion, if you are a big enough fan you would be happy with any kind of response from the celebrity.  Hopefully, one day I find an address that he will respond from with an authentic autograph until that day comes I feel honored to have this photo.

The Vampire Diaries Postcard

the vampire diariesSent LOR and SASE on February 14th, 2015.  On April 4th we received a 4 x 6 pre-printed postcard of the entire cast. My daughter is a huge fan of the show and asked me to write them.  I wrote to the entire cast as well as some of the individual actor/actresses.  Hopefully, we get additional responses from some of the cast members.

The vampire brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore, eternal adolescents, having been leading ‘normal’ lives, hiding their bloodthirsty condition, for centuries, moving on before their non-aging is noticed. They are back in the Virginia town where they became vampires. Stefan is noble, denying himself blood to avoid killing, and tries to control his evil brother Damon.
